The Department of Elder and Human Services is a team of committed staff and volunteers dedicated to identifying and responding to the physical and emotional needs of our town's seniors. They provide programs, information and referrals that will enable seniors to live independent and fulfilling lives. The Council on Aging is a state mandated advisory board that councils the EHS department about the health and wellness of Littleton's senior residents and aid the director in coordinating programs and services appropriate for that population. The COA consists of nine board members appointed by the selectmen. The COA board members meet the second Monday of the month at 1:30 p.m.

About: The Littleton Fire Department is a combination department consisting of a full-time Chief, 1 full-time Deputy Chief, 10 full-time Firefighter/EMTs, a part-time administrative assistant, 5 on-call officers, 23 on-call Firefighters and/or EMTs. The department serves Littleton, Massachusetts, a suburban community of about 9000 residents approximately 25 miles west of Boston and located along Interstate 495. The community's composition is making a transition from agricultural to primarily residential and business. Communities adjacent to the west are much more rural while those to the east and north are considered truly suburban.

Today, the Littleton Police Department is made up of 21 full-time and approximately 13 part-time employees. Chief Matthew J. King heads up the department with Deputy Chief Jeff Patterson serving as second in command. Fourfull-time Patrol Sergeants and one full-time Detective Sergeant are next in the ranking followed by one Detective and nine Police Officers. Current staffing and budget allows for two to three officers per shift. In 2012 the department handled approximately 23,705 calls for service, and has experienced a consistent 12-16 percent annual increase in those numbers since 1998.

SNAP offers nutrition assistance to millions of eligible, low-income individuals and families and provides economic benefits to communities. SNAP is the largest program in the domestic hunger safety net. The Food and Nutrition Service works with State agencies, nutrition educators, and neighborhood and faith-based organizations to ensure that those eligible for nutrition assistance can make informed decisions about applying for the program and can access benefits.
