Elder Caregiver Services

We put great effort into finding the right caregiver for each client. We pride ourselves in creating long-lasting relationships with our clients, so we hire only the best caregivers.

The majority of our caregivers come to our agency by word of mouth. We are proud to say that many of our caregivers are related to one another. Additionally, our caregivers are all our direct employees, not contracted workers, and receive ongoing performance evaluations to ensure that you are receiving the best care that exceeds expectations.

Personal Care Plan

We work closely with families to create a plan that identifies personal care needs. These may include showering, sponge bathing, toileting, oral hygiene, and infection control. We want people to look and feel their best and recognize that special attention to hair care and applying make up can make all the difference in a person's day. We promote health, hygiene and happiness as part of every plan.

Continence Assistance

We provide sensitive management of continence needs and concerns. We pride ourselves on maintaining privacy while providing assistance.

Light Housekeeping

Homemaking tasks and services are performed by our trained home health aides and homemakers. These services can include general straightening up, dusting, sweeping, vacuuming and wet-mopping floors. We are also happy to complete specific tasks based on your needs such as cleaning the kitchen and bathroom, washing and ironing clothes which can be done in the home or at a laundromat. In addition, we can change bed linens, clean appliances, wash dishes, empty out the garbage/ recyclables, and grocery shopping which includes putting away groceries.

Meal Preparation

Nutrition and hydration are important. Our caregivers encourage healthy choices for all meals and snacks that meet dietary needs throughout the day.

Companionship

Socializing and maintaining relationships are so important for stimulating people both mentally and physically. Our caregivers provide friendship and social interaction while helping to maintain routines, revive interests and increase activity. We gently encourage trying new activities if interested, and help clients stay in touch with friends and family in the community. We also assist with reading newspapers, magazines, novels, mail and email, and with organizing family photos and mementos in albums. Our aides love to listen to the various stories our clients have to share. There is no better feeling than to reminisce and laugh!

Supervision

We provide trained, unobtrusive supervision and work to tactfully redirect clients from unsafe activity. We provide sensitive reminders to use assistive devices correctly. We also encourage safe and effective exercise by offering to walk with or complete prescribed exercises together.

Medication Reminders

We remind clients to take their medicine, and assist with medications which are normally self-administered.

Medication Dispensing

A Medi-planner can be filled and overseen by one of our RNs. Medication administration is available as needed by our LPN and RN staff. PMD (personal Medication Dispensing) is a Phillips life line machine. The PMD will alert our office if a medication dose is late or missed.

Mobility, transfer and stand-by assistance

We provide assistance with ambulation, transfers to the toilet, tub, car, chair, etc with or without the use of adaptive equipment, assistive devices or Hoyer, Sara or ceiling lifts. Assistance can involve hands on physical help, guarding or supervising and cuing for safety.

Transportation

We provide incidental transportation for example: medical appointments, friends homes, barbershops/beauty salons, the post office, or shopping. Keeping elders active and in the community promotes longevity, independence, health and happiness.

Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care

We focus on providing appropriate caregivers who are trained to recognize symptoms and care for individuals with varying stages of dementia. For those requiring this specialized care, we provide activities that can improve a person’s quality of life.  To find out more, go to our Alzheimer's and Dementia page.

Hospice/ End-of-Life Care

Our Hospice credentialed caregivers are available to compassionately and carefully service individuals who have been diagnosed with a terminal illness. We help families by providing non-intrusive emotional and moral support as well as helping out around the home where needed.

Our ultimate goal is to help families make the most of their time together during a very difficult time. Through respite care, we give family caregivers well-needed rest with the reassurance that their loved one is being cared for in a compassionate, private and dignified manner.
